People often associate yoga with gymnastic activity, they imagine sweaty, bendy people doing headstands. They are surprised to find it involves a holistic approach to health and wellbeing and lycra is optional!
Continuing in the yurt on Monday evenings – we will continue to use breath and posture to change the way we feel. This time learning about how to control the stress system so we can choose to calm or energise.
The next 4 classes explore:
🌳 What is stress?
🌳 How does the body & mind react to stress (nervous system and hormones)
🌳 How our behaviour is influenced short & long term by our experience of stress
🌳 Breathing techniques & practises to reset the stress system
Research shows that with regular practise these techniques improve health and well-being and allow people to manage symptoms of stress and anxiety. The list of benefits is extensive, improved immunity, heart & respiratory health. Improved mood, concentration and endurance to name a few.
After the classes you can follow recordings of the practises if you want to.
