For anyone interested in land management and traditional agriculture, this is your opportunity to learn a fantastic and practical new skill, that will allow you to not only set up and scythe grass/grain safely... you'll also get a pretty good workout in the process too!

About the Event
The session will start with a demo how to move and cut, you'll also be shown how to sharpen and hone the blade using the stone.
For safety, you'll need to wear long trousers and bring a pair of workwear gloves with you to this event.
During the session you'll learn how to:
Set up your scythe
Putting together the scythe, the various parts of the scythe, the angles of blade, how to size your scythe ergonomically to you
Creating rows, turning and clearing up
Importantly, you'll learn how to scythe well. Your instructor Phil will guide your stance and make it a comfortable and enjoyable session!
There will be tea/coffee provided on site, and you'll be able to refill water bottles too, however a packed lunch will be required.
